Iran’s Pouya Dad Marz Wins Gold at Zagreb Open

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Pouya Dad Marz from Iran claimed a gold medal at the Grand Prix Zagreb Open, the first of the UWW Greco-Roman Ranking Tournaments of the year on Sunday.

The Iranian wrestler beat Turkey’s Ekrem Ozturk 2-1 in the final match of the 55kg.

Also, another Iranian wrestler Mohammad Naghousi defeated Romanian Ilie Cojocari 5-4 at the bronze medal bout at 77kg.

Iran has sent a full team to the Zagreb Open, but it surely is not the same team the Iranian federation will be sending to Astana, Kazakhstan for the 2019 World Championships.

The Grand Prix Zagreb Open was taking place on Saturday and Sunday (February 9th and 10th) in Zagreb, Croatia.
