MPs to Hold Emergency Meetings on Terrorist Attack in SE Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said the commission plans to hold two emergency meetings on a recent terrorist attack that killed 27 security forces in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Heshmatollah Falahat Pishe said the two emergency meetings will be held on Sunday and Monday.

He said the talks will focus on the terrorist attack that hit the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces in Zahedan and the budget needed for sealing the country’s borders.

On Wednesday night when a number of IRGC forces were traveling between the cities of Zahedan and Khash, in Sistan and Balouchestan, their bus was hit by the suicide car bomb attack.

The IRGC’s Quds Base said in a statement that an explosives-laden car rammed into the bus, which was taking the personnel back to their homes.

The attack killed 27 IRGC members and injured 13 others.

The so-called Jaish ul-Adl terrorist group has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.

IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari on Saturday warned certain regional countries behind the deadly terror attack Iran’s patience is not unlimited and criticized Pakistan for providing shelter for the terrorists.
