VNL 2019: Iran Victorious over Germany
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian national volleyball team emerged victorious over Germany at the 2019 Volleyball Nations League Week 1 on Sunday.
Iran national volleyball team beat Germany 3-0 (30-28, 29-27, 25-20) in Pool 1 in Jiangmen, China.
Mohammad Mousavi led Iran with 13 points and Simon Hirsch scored 17 points for Germany.
Iran had defeated Italy 3-1 and China 3-0 in its first two matches.
Team Melli will meet host Japan, Argentina and Brazil in week 2 in Tokyo.
The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League is the second edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League, an annual international men's volleyball tournament contested by 16 national teams.
The competition will be held between May and July 2019 and the final round will take place in the Credit Union 1 Arena, Chicago, United States.
This is the first edition of the World League or the Nations League to have the Final Round hosted in North America.
