Win against Japan Very Important for Iran: Igor Kolakovic
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran volleyball coach Igor Kolakovic said the win against Japan was very important for them.
Iran eased past Japan in straight sets (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) at the 2019 Volleyball Nations League Week 2 on Sunday.
"The game against Japan was a very important game for us. Therefore, I am happy to end it with a victory, especially because the last time we played Japan, we lost,” Kolakovic told fivb.org.
“We managed to stay patient and focused throughout the game. It may look as if this victory against Japan was easy, but it was actually very difficult. We are very pleased to play in front of a big audience," he added.
The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League is the second edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League, an annual international men's volleyball tournament contested by 16 national teams.
Team Melli will host Canada, Russia and Poland in Week 3 in Oroumiyeh, northwestern province of West Azarbaijan, later this week.
