Iran Freestylers Claim Cadet Asian Wrestling C’ship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran won the title of the 2019 Cadet Asian Freestyle Wrestling Championship on Sunday.

The Iranian wrestlers won seven gold medals, one silver and one bronze in the two-day event.

Iran went on the podium with 212 points. India came second with 157 points and host Kazakhstan sat on the third place with 145 points.

Ali Arab in the 45kg, Rahman Amoozad Khalili in 48kg, Ali Gholizadegan  in 51kg, Amir Hossein Mottaghi in 60kg, Amir Hossein Firouzpour in 80kg, Soheil Yousefi in 92kg and Salar Habibi in 110kg won seven gold medals for Iran.

Erfan Elahi and Mahdi Viesi won a silver and a bronze medal in 60kg and 55kg, respectively.

On Friday, Iran Greco-Roman team had won the Asian Wrestling Championship title with four gold medals, two silvers and one bronze.

The competitions were held in the city of Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
