US ‘Deal of Century’ to Fail in Face of Palestinians’ Resolve: Hamas
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Husam Badran, a Hamas political bureau member and the movement's lead on international relations, said the US plot against Palestine dubbed “the deal of the century” will be defeated in the face of the Palestinians’ resolve.
“The deal of the century’s destiny is nothing but failure in the face of the Palestinian nation’s will,” Badran said in a speech in Beirut on Sunday, the Arabic-language Palestine al-Yawm reported.
The only way to thwart this and other similar plots is to realize the national unity and support the Palestinian people’s resistance, the Hamas official added.
The deal of century ploy, fronted by US President Donald Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has already been rejected by the Palestinians, who say the White House's policies have been blatantly biased in favor of Israel.
Palestinians have cut off all contacts with the Trump administration since the president broke with decades of bipartisan policy to recognize al-Quds (Jerusalem) as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
Bahrain hosted a conference on June 25 and 26 to encourage what it calls investment in the West Bank and Gaza Strip as part of Trump’s plan for Palestine.
The US-organized gathering was boycotted by numerous Palestinian groups and business leaders as well as many Arab countries.
