Iran’s Zarif in Bolivia for Official Visit

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Bolivia on the last leg of his tour of Latin American nations to hold talks with senior officials of the country on issues of mutual interest.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Zarif arrived in Santa Cruz on Tuesday to hold talks with senior officials of the South American country.

Upon his arrival, Zarif was officially welcomed by Bolivian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Carmen Almendras.

The Iranian top diplomat plans to meet with President Evo Morales, Minister of Foreign Affairs Diego Pary and some other high-ranking officials of Bolivia.

After taking part in an annual meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York, Zarif visited the Venezuelan capital of Caracas to attend Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) foreign ministers’ meeting.

He also met with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and First Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez.

The Iranian top diplomat also visited Nicaragua on the second leg of his tour of Latin America.

On Monday, Zarif attended separate meetings with senior Nicaraguan officials, including Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, President of the National Assembly Gustavo Porras Cortes, Foreign Minister Denis Moncada and President of Central Bank of Nicaragua Leonardo Ovidio Reyes Ramirez.
