Yemeni Forces Attack Parade in Aden, Kill Mercenaries

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Houthi Ansarullah movement said it has launched missile and drone attacks on Thursday on a military parade in Aden, killing dozens of forces affiliated with Saudi Arabia.

According to the medical and security sources, Thursday’s attack by the Houthi fighters has killed at least 32 mercenaries in Aden, the seat of government of former fugitive president that benefits from the backing of Saudi Arabia.

Reuters said the attack has hit a military camp belonging to the Yemeni Security Belt forces backed by the United Arab Emirates, which is a member of the Saudi-led military coalition that has been pounding Yemen for more than four years.

Al Masirah TV said the Houthi forces have launched a medium-range ballistic missile and an armed drone at the parade, which was being staged in preparation for a military move against Yemeni army and popular forces.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

According to a recent UN report, the combined death toll from the Saudi-led aggression and disease is 233,000, or 0.8 percent of Yemen's population of 30 million.
