Iran Freestyle Team Finishes Third at Junior World Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s freestyle wrestling team finished in third place at the 2019 Junior World Championships Wednesday night.

On the last day of the competition, Amir Zare from Iran lost to his American rival Mason Parris in the 125kg final match and won a silver medal.

Iran’s Abbasali Foroutan in the 97kg and Amirhossein Maghsoudi in the 61kg finals had won two gold medals on Tuesday.

Mohmmadsadegh Firouzpour also won a bronze medal in the 70kg.

Russia topped the podium with 168 points, followed by USA (120 points) and Iran (119 points).

The competition was held in Tallinn, Estonia.
