Iranian Taekwondo Athletes Claim Two medal at World Taekwondo Grand Prix

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two Iranian taekwondo competitors claimed medals on Day 2 of the World Taekwondo Grand Prix on Saturday.

Armin Hadipour snatched a silver medal at the men’s -58kg after losing to Jang Jun from South Korea 22-14 in the final.

Bronze medal went to Italian Vito Dell'Aquila and Adrián Vicente from Spain.

Iran’s Sajjad Mardani also won a bronze medal at the men’s +80kg along with Azerbaijan’s Radik Isaev.

South Korean Kyo-don beat Russian Vladislav Larin 6-5 in the final and claimed the gold medal.

Mirhashem Hosseini from Iran had won a gold medal at the men's -68kg on Friday.

The prestigious competition is being held in Chiba, Japan from September 13 to 15.

The event is G4 ranked, meaning athletes have the chance to gain up to 40 points toward their athlete ranking. By comparison, at G1 competitions, gold medalists earn only 10 points.
