Iran Loses to Australia at Asian Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Australia 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 21-25, 21-25) at the 2019 Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship at the Azadi Sports Complex here on Sunday.

Iran is pitted against Australia, India and China in Pool E.

Japan, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan and South Korea are in Pool F.

The Tehran championship will also serve as the Tokyo 2020 Asian Olympic qualification tournament with the top-eight teams making it to the Olympic qualifiers.

The 2020 Men's Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament will be held in Jiangmen, China from January 7 to 12, 2020.

The 2019 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship is the twentieth edition of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, a biennial international volleyball tournament organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF).
