Iran 9th at 2019 World Beach Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran finished in ninth place at the inaugural edition of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) World Beach Games.

The Iranian athletes won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal in the Games, held in Doha, Qatar.

Pouya Rahmani snatched a gold at the beach wrestling men’s +90kg final.

Fatemeh Sadeghi seized a silver in karate kata and beach soccer team came third.

Spain dominated the Games by winning seven gold medals, one silver and two bronzes.

Brazil finished second with five gold, four silver and three bronze medals.

Italy came third, bagging four gold medals, one silver and one bronze.

The 2019 World Beach Games brought more than 1230 athletes from 97 countries together in Doha, Qatar from October 12 to 16.
