IPL: Persepolis Earns Hard Fought Win over Paykan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team beat Paykan 2-1 in Week 7 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.
Mehdi Torabi opened the scoring for Persepolis in the 19th minute but Saeid Vasei levelled the score from a set-piece in the 36th minute.
Ahmad Nourollahi headed home to make it 2-1 in the 82nd minute.
One minute later, Persepolis went down to 10 men after Mehdi Abdi received a straight red card.
Pars Jonoubi was held to a 0-0 draw by Sanat Naft in Jam.
In Tabriz, Foolad defeated Machine Sazi 3-2.
On Monday, Esteghlal will meet Saipa in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Sepahan play Gol Gohar in Sirjan, Zob Ahan host Shahr Khodro in Isfahan, Tractor play Nassaji in Ghaemshahr and Naft Masjed Soleyman host Shahin Bushehr.
