IPL: Esteghlal, Tractor Have Goal Festivals, Sepahan Stays Atop
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal and Tractor football teams each scored four goals against their rivals in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.
It was definitely a night to remember for Tractor and Esteghlal.
Esteghlal beat Saipa 4-0. For Andrea Stramaccioni’s team, Aref Gholami (9th), Mohammad Daneshgar (50th), Vouria Ghafouri (68th) and Sajjad Aghaei (89th) were on target.
Mustafa Denizli’s team pummeled Nassaji Mazandaran 4-0 and remained in the second place. Peruvian forward Willyan Mimbela scored in the 52nd minute.
Sasan Ansari was on target twice in the 61st and 63rd minutes. Japanese midfielder Yukiya Sugita scored Tractor’s fourth goal with five minutes remaining.
Sepahan stayed atop with a 2-0 win over Gol Gohar in Sirjan. Sajjad Shahbazzadeh scored in the 28th minute and Ali Ghorbani made scoreboard 2-0 in the added time.
Shahr Khodro cemented its place in the third place with a 1-0 win over Zob Ahan in Isfahan. Amin Ghaseminejad scored for the Mashhad-based football team in the 42nd minute.
Naft Masjed Soleyman also edged past Shahin Bushehr thanks to a Payam Malekian’s goal.
Sepahan and Tractor sit top with 17 points, followed by Shahr Khodro with 16 points.
