Iran U-23 Football Team Held by Indonesia in Friendly

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran U-23 football team drew 1-1 with Indonesia U-23 in a friendly match on Wednesday.

In the match, held at the Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Bali, Egy Maulana Vikri gave the host the lead in the 27th minute and Mohammad Reza Azadi equalized the match in the 68th minute.

Hamid Estili’s team will also play Indonesia on Saturday as part of preparation for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship.

Iran has been drawn in Group C of the AFC U-23 Championship along with Uzbekistan, China and South Korea.

The competition will be held in Thailand from January 8 to 26 and the top three teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics men's football tournament in Japan as the AFC representatives.
