Iran Held by Thailand at Men’s Junior AHF Cup 2019
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was held to a 1-1 draw by Thailand at the Men’s Junior Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup 2019 on Thursday.
Miad Keramati scored for Iran and Suriya Asonbua was on target for Thailand.
Iran will play China on Friday.
The competition is being held in Muscat, Oman from December 5 to 14.
Iran has been drawn in Pool A along with China, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
Pool B consists of Oman, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong.
The competition takes place at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, which is the most important stadium in the city of Muscat.
The top four teams from this tournament will qualify for the Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2020 and join the teams of Bangladesh, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Pakistan who have already qualified.
The Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2020 is a qualifier round for the Hockey Junior World Cup 2021.
