Iran Advances to IBSA Goalball Asia-Pacific C’ships Semis

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran advanced to the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Goalball Asia-Pacific Championships semifinals on Sunday.

The Iranian team first defeated Australia 11-1 and then beat Japan 10-6 at the Chiba Port Arena.

Iran will play Japan on Monday to book a place in the final match.

The champion of both the men's and women's events will qualify for the Paralympics, providing they have not already booked their place.

If that happens, the next best-ranked side will advance to next year's Games.

In the men's event seven teams will be in action until December 10.
