Iran President Urges High Turnout in Revolution Anniversary Rallies

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – President Hassan Rouhani called on all Iranian people to attend the upcoming nationwide rallies in celebration of the 41st anniversary of victory of the 1979 revolution in order to express their unity in the face of the enemies.

Addressing a cabinet session on Wednesday, Rouhani invited the Iranian people from every walk of life to take part in the February 11 rallies en masse, stressing that Iran’s national unity and solidarity is the key to victory against the ill-wishers.

“Today, we need, more than ever, to gather together on Bahman 22nd (February 11) and tell the enemies that we have been standing by the Revolution for 41 years and will stand by the Revolution, Imam (Khomeini) and the Leader’s path as long as we are alive,” the president added.

Warning of the hostile plots to harm the national interests, Rouhani described national unity, the presence of people, and the mutual trust between people and the government as the keys to the settlement of problems and confrontation with the enemies.

He further highlighted the US’ failure to attract European support for scrapping the 2015 nuclear deal, saying Washington has also been unable to misrepresent its acts of terrorism as a show of power because of the Iranian nation’s vigilance, fortitude and perseverance.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has also repeatedly warned of a massive propaganda campaign mounted by the US and Israel, coupled with an all-out economic war on the Islamic Republic, urging strong national unity in the face of enemy plots.
