Esteghlal, Tractor Share Spoils, Sepahan Suffers Late Draw
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal and Tractor football teams played out a goalless draw in Matchweek 24 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Saturday.
In the match, held behind closed doors at the Azadi Stadium, the two teams failed to score a single goal.
Shahr Khodro drew 1-1 with Saipa in Mashhad. Shahr Khodro forward Amin Ghaseminejad scored in the 9th minute but Armin Sohrabian levelled the match in the injury time.
Sepahan suffered a late draw in Isfahan against Pars Jonoubi. Mohammad Reza Hosseini put the host into the lead in the 11th minute but with five minutes remaining, Reza Khaleghi equalized the match.
Elsewhere, Paykan defeated Gol Gohar 2-0 and Sanat Naft drew 1-1 with Nassaji in Abadan.
Persepolis sits top of the table with 56 points.
Sepahan and Shahr Khodro are second and third with 42 points and Tractor is fourth with 41 points.
Esteghlal is sixth with 38 points.
