TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Iraq discussed a range of bilateral and regional issues in a telephone conversation.

In the phone call on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein discussed various issues, including the relations between Tehran and Baghdad.

They also talked about the visit that an Iraqi delegation is going to pay to Iran to pursue the agreements signed between the two neighbors during Fuad Hussein’s last trip to Tehran.

In late September, the foreign minister of Iraq visited Iran for negotiations a broad range of political and regional issues, including plans to broaden the bilateral ties.

As agreed in the meeting, an Iraqi technical team would travel to Iran to implement the mutual agreements, including those on dredging the border river of Arvand Rud.
