Syria, Oman Discuss Promotion of Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad received a phone call from Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman Badr Al Busaidi in which they discussed means to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

During the phone call, Al Busaidi congratulated al-Mikdad on his appointment as the Foreign and Expatriates Minister, wishing him success in his new tasks.

The two sides also discussed means to strengthen the standing cooperation between the two countries and a number of issues of mutual interest, in addition to ways to improve the conditions which the Arab region is passing through and addressing the difficult reality lived by the region’s countries in general, SANA reported.

The two ministers agreed on continuing the communication to exert joint efforts so as to overcome these challenges and to resolve the existing problems in the region in a way that serves the best interest of the Arab countries and their progress in different domains.

Oman reinstated its ambassador to Syria in October, becoming the first Persian Gulf Arab state to do so since militancy erupted in Syria about nine years ago.
