Hamideh Abbasali Returns to Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Captain of Iranian women’s Kumite karate team Hamideh Abbasali, who had traveled to Germany to follow her treatment process, returned to Tehran Saturday morning.

Abbasali suffered a knee injury in the final bout of -68kg category against Italy’s Clio Ferracuti in Karat 1-Premier League Salzburg in early March and was rushed to the hospital shortly after the match.

She traveled to Hannover in April, where Dr. Babak Zargar Amini performed surgery on her torn PCL, and once again traveled to Germany on November 4 to continue her treatment.

As the 2020 Olympics has been postponed for a year, the Iranian karate star will have more time to recover and attain the required readiness to shine in the major event.
