TEHRAN (Tasnim) – With eight days left in the presidency of Donald Trump, a caravan of protesters in Denver, Colorado, on Sunday demanded his exit date be moved up.

"This might be the last time we get to protest in the Trump presidency," said Denver School Board member Tay Anderson from a truck bed to more than 100 people in cars. "We started with a bang four years ago and we are going to go out with a bang today."

The protest was organized by Anderson in response to the riots after a Trump rally in the US Capitol on Wednesday that killed five people. Many are linking the riots to the US president's rhetoric before and on the day violence broke out.

"This past Wednesday an act of terror took place in the United States capitol," said Anderson. "We gather here to say that our democracy is stronger than white supremacists and Neo-Nazis."

Speakers at the rally included Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser who insisted impeachment would send a strong message.

"He should never hold office again," Weiser exclaimed in a speech about the president. "It is important that We the People be heard."

That message was taken to the streets as the caravan drove through Denver. Protesters honking in front of the Colorado Capitol as protesters waved signs.

"Trump needs to go, we are saying he needs to go," said protester Stacy Mitchell. "As much as I can get my voice out there one more time."
