Persepolis' Mehdi Abdi Wins Best Goal of 2020 ACL

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mehdi Abdi's semi-final goal for Persepolis against Al-Nassr was voted by the fans as the Best Goal of the 2020 AFC Champions League.

Abdi's 42nd minute header drew Iran champion level against Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr, with the Tehran-based side going on to win the penalty shootout 5-3 to make its second AFC Champions League final in three years.

Abdi garnered 31.61 percent of the votes with the second of his goals - against eventual champion Ulsan Hyundai FC in the final - finishing third in the poll with 17.26 percent. Al-Nassr's Abdulrahman Al Obaid finished second, with his Matchday One goal against Qatar's Al-Sadd receiving 22.48 percent of the votes.
