IPL: Esteghlal Fails to Beat Naft Masjed Soleyman
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team failed to defeat Naft Masjed Soleyman in Matchweek 13 of Iran Professional League (IPL) on Friday.
Esteghlal goalkeeper Hossein Hosseini gave the host a lead in the 32nd minute after failing to save the ball and scored an own goal.
Vouria Ghafouri equalized the match in the 70th minute.
Esteghlal sits top of the table with 23 points, one point above Sepahan who has one game in hands.
Saipa, who had defeated Esteghlal 1-0 last week, suffered a 1-0 home loss against Gol Gohar in Tehran.
Saipa striker Majid Aliyari was shown his second yellow card in the 70th minute and Younes Shakeri scored for Gol Gohar five minutes later.
And Nassaji Ghaemshahr lost to 10-man Zob Ahan 3-2 in Ghaemshahr.
Darko Bjedov gave the visiting team a lead just one minute into the match but Mohammad Mehdi Nazari cancelled out his goal three minutes later.
Abdollah Hosseini put Zob Ahan ahead once again in the 27th minute.
Zob Ahan midfielder Mojtaba Haghdoost received a straight red card in the 45th minute.
Nassaji midfielder Ayoub Kalantari scored an equalizer in the 50th minute but Milad Jahani scored a winner in the 56th minute for Zob Ahan.
