Iran to Double Volume of Trade with Neighbors: VP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri unveiled plans to double the volume of trade exchanges with the neighboring states in the coming years.

According to a target set by the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, the trade exchanges with the neighboring countries will double in volume in the coming years, Jahangiri said at a meeting with a group of Iranian lawmakers on Monday.

Stressing the need to enhance economic relations with the neighbors, the vice president said Iran shares border with 15 countries and maintain cordial and constructive ties with all of them, except a few Persian Gulf states that have made a series of mistakes and have disgraced themselves.

The Iranian administration says the promotion of economic cooperation with neighbors is a main priority in Tehran’s foreign policy agenda.
