Nearly 7,500 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry put the number of new daily coronavirus cases in the country at over 7,400.

Sima Sadat Lari, the ministry’s spokeswoman, said on Thursday that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has reached 1,496,455 after the detection of 7,474 new cases since yesterday.   

She said 65 coronavirus patients have died over the past 24 hours, bringing the overall coronavirus death toll in Iran to 58,751.

More than 1,278,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, according to the spokeswoman.

She also said over 9,855,000 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.

Nearly 108 million people have contracted the coronavirus in the world and the global death toll has exceeded 2.36 million.
