Iran, Syria Weigh Plans to Promote Cultural Cooperation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry visited Syria for talks on the enhancement of ties between the two allies in the media and cultural fields.

During his recent trip to Damascus, Saeed Khatibzadeh held meetings with several Syria officials and attended gatherings organized by think tanks and media centers.

Khatibzadeh held separate meetings with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, the minister of information, the minister of culture, and Syrian president’s political and media adviser Bouthaina Shaaban, exploring avenues for the expansion of cultural and media cooperation between Tehran and Damascus.

The Iranian spokesman praised the Syrian people’s resistance against terrorism, giving an assurance that the Islamic Republic will keep supporting Syria in the course of economic revival.

He also attended a number of meetings in Syrian academic centers and think tanks.
