Karimi into Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Alireza Karimi advanced to the final bout of 97kg weight class at the Matteo Pellicone Ranking Series 2021.
He defeated American Hayden Nicholas Zillmer 6-3 in his first match.
Karimi also beat Turkey’s Ibrahim Ciftci 10-0 in the semifinals.
He will face American Kollin Raymond Moore in the final.
Behnam Ehsanpour also represents Iran at the 67kg.
The competition serves as a UWW Ranking Series event for the 2021 World Championships in Oslo, Norway, later this year.
Around 360 wrestlers from 32 different countries are participating in the tournament.
