Iranian FM Congratulates Muslims on Advent of Holy Month of Ramadan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Minister congratulated world Muslims on the advent of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

In a message on his Twitter page, Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote a congratulatory message to all Muslims around the world on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, “the month of compassion, goodwill, blessing, and charity.”

“We ask God Almighty to grant Muslims unity and cohesion in the face of challenges in achieving common interests among different Islamic nations this month, as well as to lift the voice of truth and freedom among the people and to free the oppressed,” he added.

The holy fasting month of Ramadan is expected to start on Wednesday, April 14 in Iran.

The advent of Ramadan may vary from country to country depending on the situation of the moon. Since the new moon is not in the same state at the same time globally, the beginning and ending dates of Ramadan depend on what lunar sightings are received in each location.

As a result, Ramadan dates vary in different countries, but usually only by a day. This is due to the cycle of the moon.
