Time between Decision, Action in Iran Nuclear Industry Minimized: Qalibaf

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf hailed the country’s technical know-how to produce uranium enriched to 60% fissile purity, saying the interval between making a decision and putting it into action in the nuclear industry has been minimized.

In remarks at a parliamentary session on Sunday, Qalibaf said the success of young Iranian scientists in enriching uranium to 60% purity was a remarkable achievement in technical terms that has generated power for Iran and has sent significant political messages.

While the enemies had plans to slow down or halt Iran’s nuclear activities with terrorist attacks, the enrichment of uranium to 60% purity in accordance with the Parliament’s ‘Strategic Act’ in a short period of time revealed that the interval between decision-making and action in Iran’s nuclear industry has reached the lowest rate thanks to the resolve of the young scientists, he added.

Last week, Iran began enriching UF6 up to 60% in two cascades of IR4 and IR6 centrifuges in Natanz nuclear site after an act of sabotage damaged a number of IR1 centrifuge machines in the facility.

President Hassan Rouhani said the decision to start enriching uranium to 60 percent purity was a response to the Zionist regime’s crime of “nuclear terrorism”.
