Israeli Police Clash with Palestinian Worshippers in Al-Quds (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli police clashed with Palestinian Muslim worshippers near the Damascus Gate on Sunday in East Jerusalem al-Quds, using stun grenades and water cannons to disperse crowds.
Several worshippers were also tackled and pinned to the ground by police.
Tensions have been ongoing throughout the week, with the Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem al-Quds being at the epicenter of the discontent. Traditionally, Muslim worshippers would gather in the plaza during Ramadan nights, however, barriers have been erected this year at the site to prevent crowding.
Three people have been arrested as a result of the tensions which have taken place for the fifth consecutive night. Four people have also been injured according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
