Chicago Stores Board Up after Chauvin Guilty Verdict (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Shops in the city of Chicago, US state of Illinois, were seen boarding up on Tuesday after former police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murder in the death of George Floyd in May 2020.

Many businesses were seen boarded up in fear of possible demonstrations.

Chauvin was found guilty on all counts including second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd, a Black man who died after Chauvin kneeled on his neck and back for more than nine minutes. Sentencing in this case is expected in around eight weeks, with Chauvin facing up to 75 years in prison.
