Iran Greco-Roman Team Comes 3rd at Vehbi Emre

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Greco-Roman wrestling team finished in third place at the Vehbi Emre & Hamit Kaplan 2021.

Ramin Taheri seized a gold medal in the 87kg on Day 2. Hossein Asadi also claimed a silver in the 67kg.

Iran had already won five medals on Day 1.

On Day 1, Sajad Abbaspour and Pouya Dad Marz won a gold and a silver respectively in the 55kg.

Mohammad Reza Mokhtari also won a gold medal in the 72kg. Amin Kavianinejhad took a bronze medal in the class.

Meysam Dalkhani seized a bronze medal in the 63kg.

Russia won the title, followed by Turkey and Iran in the standing.

The tournament was held in Istanbul, Turkey on June 19-20.
