Over 26 Million Iranians Fully Vaccinated against COVID

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Tuesday that more than 26 million citizens have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

New figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that more than 75.38 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Tuesday, with over 26 million people having been fully vaccinated.

While more than 34.22 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 5,809,900 following the detection of 13,308 new cases since Monday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 1,783 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 5,347,400 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 124,423, saying the disease has taken the lives of 167 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,622 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 241 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.92 million.
