Over 30 Million Iranians Get Both COVID Jabs

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Monday that more than 30 million citizens have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

New figures released by the Health Ministry indicate that more than 81.36 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Monday, with over 30.13 million people having been fully vaccinated.

While more than 34.86 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 5,868,300 following the detection of 7,516 new cases since Sunday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 1,171 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 5,429,900 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 125,363, saying the disease has taken the lives of 140 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,256 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 244 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.96 million.
