Qatar Sends New Aid Shipment to Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The second consignment of medical items dispatched by the Qatari government arrived in Iran on Saturday to help the country in the battle with the coronavirus epidemic.

The Qatari aid shipment contains some 8.5 tons of sanitary and medical supplies, including 1,173,000 surgery masks along with hygienic items and disinfectants, according to the Iranian Government’s official website.

The supplies are to be handed over to the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the headquarters running operations to deal with the coronavirus outbreak. The two will, accordingly, distribute the items among hospitals and medical centers across the nation.

Qatar had already sent another shipment containing 5.5 tons of hygienic and medical supplies on March 14.

Iran’s Health Ministry has announced that more than 7,600 coronavirus patients have recovered from the disease in the country.
