Some 32 Million Iranians Screened for Coronavirus

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry has screened 31.6 million people to detect the coronavirus infection cases, a deputy minister announced.

Iranian Deputy Health Minister Alireza Raeisi said on Saturday that more than 31.6 million people in the country have been screened for coronavirus under the national mobilization plan for the battle with COVID-19.

He said around one million people have attended the national plan via the Internet only on Saturday.

Nearly 56,000 Health Ministry experts are screening people through the Internet website and by the telephone, Raeisi added.

Raeisi then called on all Iranians to join the “Stay Home” campaign, refrain from traveling during the Nowruz holidays, and avoid gatherings to cut off the chain of spread of the disease.

Iran’s Health Ministry says more than 7,600 coronavirus patients have recovered from the disease in the country, while the death toll has hit 1,556.
