Iran’s President Hopes for Eradication of COVID-19 in Eid Message

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Islamic countries’ heads of state on the religious festivity of Eid al-Fitr, hoping for global peace, security and health by overcoming the challenges and defeating the novel coronavirus pandemic.

In separate messages on Saturday night, Rouhani congratulated Muslim heads of state, governments and nations on the festive occasion of Eid al-Fitr marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The president also expressed hope that in light of the holy Eid and with the efforts of scientists and experts, Muslim countries could overcome the challenges and difficulties that have gripped humanity, particularly the coronavirus, and could ensure health, security, peace and calm for Muslim nations and all people across the world.

Eid-al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.

Also called Feast of Breaking the Fast, Eid al-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

The solemn festival is a specific day on which Muslims are not permitted to fast.

Muslims do not only celebrate the end of fasting but thank God for the help and strength that He gave them throughout the holy month to help them practice self-control.
