Iran Eager to Broaden Ties with Croatia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for the promotion of cooperation with Croatia in various fields.

In a message for his Croatian counterpart Zoran Milanovic, Rouhani congratulated Croatia’s government and nation on the Statehood Day, a national holiday celebrated in the European country on May 30 marking the constitution of its first modern multi-party parliament in 1990.

Rouhani highlighted the cultural commonalities between Iran and Croatia, expressing hope that the two countries would be able to enhance the bilateral relations and serve the interests of the two nations considering the abundant capacities of the two sides for political, economic, scientific and technological cooperation.

He also wished the Croatian nation welfare and prosperity.

In a telephone conversation in April, the Iranian and Croatian presidents called for the exchange of experiences and mutual cooperation in the fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.

They expressed solidarity with the people of the two countries in the difficult conditions of the battle with the coronavirus, and called for sharing experiences and capabilities to contain the disease.
