Ayatollah Khamenei Condemns US Government’s Racism

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei condemned the US government’s brutal actions against its people, voicing support for the popular movement in the US against racial prejudice.

In a message released on Wednesday on the occasion of the season of Hajj, Ayatollah Khamenei said the Islamic Republic’s firm stance on the ongoing developments in the US and the anti-racism movements is “supporting the people and condemning the racist US government’s brutal behavior.”

The Leader also denounced the American presence in the West Asia region as being detrimental to regional nations and a factor behind insecurity, destruction and underdevelopment of the countries.

Ayatollah Khamenei further descried the Muslim ritual of Hajj as an opportunity to display power against the “arrogant powers that are epicenter of corruption, cruelty, killing the weak, and plundering.”

“Hajj is the expression of the (Islamic) Ummah’s (community’s) hard and soft capabilities,” the Leader said.

Stressing the need for unity within the Muslim community, Ayatollah Khamenei said such solidarity would counter the threats and hostilities and deal with the “epitome of evil, the aggressive and cruel US” and the Zionist regime of Israel.

The Leader enumerated the cases of the US government’s decline, such as the mistreatment of its people, the deep social inequality, the terrible racial prejudice, and the barbaric killing of a black man at the hands of the police.

“The US’ treatment of the weak nations, is a magnified version of behavior of that police officer who kneeled on the neck of a defenseless black man and pressed him to death.”

Ayatollah Khamenei also reaffirmed support for the oppressed people of Palestine and Yemen, and for the Muslims suffering from persecution all over the world.
