Resistance Front Pressing Ahead to Annihilate Zionist Regime: Iran’s Top General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces said the assassination of senior commander Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, whose murderers have been relegated to the dustbin of history, has strengthened the resistance front’s resolve to destroy the Zionist regime.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the tomb of General Soleimani in the southern city of Kerman on Monday, Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said the blood of the revered martyr has given fresh impetus to the plans to pursue the aspirations of the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini more vigorously.

The resistance front is pressing on with the goal of destruction of the Zionist regime, he said, adding that the path of battle against the US and Israeli regimes is being followed more enthusiastically.

The top commander also highlighted the “remarkable progress in the capabilities of the resistance front and the Iranian Armed Force” over the past year, after the martyrdom of Lt. General Soleimani.

The situation of the enemies indicates that the murderers of General Soleimani have been relegated to the history dustbin and will have to pay the price for the assassination, the commander stated.

“The Zionist regime is in confusion and on the path to downfall,” he added.

General Soleimani, Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and several of their companions were assassinated in a US airstrike authorized by former US president Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.

Both General Soleimani and al-Muhandis played a key role in defeating the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group which at its peak, threatened a complete take-over of Iraq and Syria.

Iraqi lawmakers unanimously approved a bill on January 5, 2020, demanding the withdrawal of all foreign military forces led by the United States from the country following the assassination of the two anti-terror commanders.
