Persepolis, Esteghlal Held: IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis and Esteghlal football teams were held by their rivals in Matchweek 19 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Saturday.
In Mashhad’s Emam Reza Stadium, Persepolis was held to a 1-1 draw by Shahr Khodro.
Amin Ghaseminejhad was on target for Shahr Khodro in the 45th minute and Milad Sarlak leveled the score in the 69th minute.
In Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Esteghlal drew 0-0 with Paykan in a lackluster match.
Tractor was also held to a 0-0 draw by Mes Rafsanjan in Tabriz.
Struggling Zob Ahan defeated Sanat Naft 1-0 in Isfahan and Nassaji earned its second successive victory under coaching of Saket Elhami. Nassaji earned a 2-0 away win against Naft Masjed Soleyman.
Persepolis moved to top of the table with 38 points. Sepahan is second with 37 points and a match in hands.
Esteghlal sits third with 34 points.
