Peyman Akbari Named Paykan Volleyball Team Coach
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Peyman Akbari has been named as new head coach of crisis-hit Paykan volleyball team.
The 44-year-old coach helped Shahrdari Urmia win a silver medal in the Iran Super League last season.
Now, Akbari has returned to his former club, aiming to bring glory days back to Paykan.
Paykan is the most successful volleyball club in Iran with 12 league titles.
The team is also the most decorated club in Asian volleyball, as it has won the Asian Club Championships a record seven times.
In 2010, Paykan finished third in the World Club Championships.
