Woman Weightlifter Jahanfekrian Makes History
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Parisa Jahanfekrian wrote her name in history book, becoming the first woman weightlifter to represent Iran in the Olympic Games.
After withdrawal of Iuniarra Sipaia from Samoa, Jahanfekrian is eligible to take part in the games.
The 87kg weightlifter had participated in the 2019 IWF World Championships.
Jahanfekrian has become Iran’s 11th athletes in the 2020 Tokyo.
She has recently undergone a hand surgery and will participate in the Games if she recovers ahead of the event.
