Iranian, Qatari FMs Meet in Tehran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar discussed a range of issues, including the bilateral ties, at a meeting in Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held talks in Tehran on Sunday.

The two senior diplomats discussed various issues in the meeting, including the latest developments in the relations between Tehran and Doha and the most pressing regional and international issues.

In a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar last week, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani slammed the policy of militarism pursued by the Zionist regime as the major challenge posed to the region, stressing the need for concerted action to help the region overcome such conditions.

Rouhani also hailed Qatar's stance on regional developments and said the ongoing crises in the region should be settled through peaceful means and negotiations.
