Iranian Commandos in Belarus for Army Games 2021

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A team of airborne commandos from the Iranian Army Ground Force traveled to Belarus to take part in a special section of the International Army Games 2021.

Commandos serving at the Army Ground Force Special Forces, known as the 65th Brigade, have arrived in Belarus to compete with the special forces of a number of other countries in the "Polar Star" contest, part of the International Army Games 2021.

The Polar Star contest is held at Brestsky training camp in Belarus from August 22 to September 4 as part of the seventh edition of the International Army Games. Special forces from nine states, namely Iran, Russia, Venezuela, India, China, Morocco, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus, are attending the contest.

The first stage of the competition would be ‘checking the readiness of the personnel of special forces to perform combat training tasks’, in which participants will perform individual and group exercises.

In the course of checking individual training, the practical implementation of standards and exercises by military personnel from various types of small arms is checked, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s website.

During the group exercises, the level of coordination among the special forces will be evaluated in the course of landing on guided parachute systems, storming a building, conducting hand-to-hand combat without weapons, and other combat training missions.

Held in 34 sections, the International Army Games 2021 will go on for two weeks with Russia as the main host.

The diving tournament will be held in Iran from August 22 to September 2 with 100 participants from six countries.
