Pandemic in Iran: Nearly 17 Million Fully Vaccinated

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Monday that some 17 million people have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

New figures released by the Health Ministry of Iran indicate that more than 58.75 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Monday, with over 16.95 million people having been fully vaccinated.

While more than 32.61 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 5,638,700 following the detection of 14,607 new cases since Sunday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 2,163 patients have been admitted to the hospital.

At least 5,115,700 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.

The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 121,347, saying the disease has taken the lives of 238 patients over the past 24 hours.

Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,727 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 235 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.81 million.
