COVID-19 in Iran: New Cases Reported in 24 Hours Down to 7,500

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of new coronavirus cases detected in Iran during the past 24 hours stands at around 7,500, the Health Ministry said.

The ministry said on Saturday that 7,515 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours. It said 1,197 of them required hospitalization.

Out of a total of 5,773,419 infected people, 5,309,992 have recovered or been discharged from hospitals, it added.

The country has recorded 4,840 coronavirus patients in critical condition and intensive care units in the past 24 hours, it said.

The ministry also said that a total of 48,015,159 Iranians have so far received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, with over 23.34 million individuals having received the second dose.

The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 240.92 million and the death toll has exceed 4.90 million.
