IPL: Sepahan, Persepolis Beat Rivals, Esteghlal Held
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sepahan and Persepolis football teams defeated their rivals on Matcweek 7 of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.
In Isfahan, IPL leader Sepahan defeated Nassaji 2-0. Shahryiar Moghanlou scored a brace for Sepahan.
In Abadan, Esteghlal was held to a 1-1 draw by Sanat Naft. Mehdi Hanafi scored for Sanat Naft in the eighth minute and Amir Hossein Hosseinzadeh leveled the score in the 39th minute.
In Rafsanjan, Mes saw off Havadar 1-0, thanks to Godwin Mensha’s goal from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.
In Tehran, Paykan suffered a 1-0 loss against Gol Gohar. Amid Pourali scored the sole goal of the match. Persepolis also defeated Naft Masjed Soleyman 1-0. Mehdi Abadi scored the winner at the Azadi Stadium.
On Tuesday, Foolad will host Tractor in Ahvaz, Padideh meet Fajr Sepasi in Mashhad and Aluminum face Zob Ahan in Arak.
